This spring will be the first in long time where a new coach
will be showing the best fans in the land how he’s going to run our football
team. Urban Meyer is new on the scene,
just having been hired after the 2011 season.
He is giving the team a trial with this game, to see if he can whip them
into shape.
This past Saturday, the student body at Ohio State was
invited to watch practice at the Stadium.
However, due to the weather (rain, naturally), the practice was moved to
Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Olentangy River Road, behind the Schottenstein
Center. Practice was held on the indoor
turf and there was quite a turnout to see the offense and defense scrimmage in
their last Saturday practice before the game.
The Spring Game will take place on Saturday April 21st
at 1:30 pm, after the OSU Men’s Lacrosse teams plays Air Force at 11 am. The team will take the field as soon as their
game is over to start warming up and preparing for the game.
With many recruits out for the team this year, Meyer
certainly has his job cut out for him by making a mostly freshman team into THE
team to beat this year. Although we
won’t be going to a Bowl game this year, the Buckeyes should still be on
everyone’s list to beat. The game next
Saturday will show just what kind of cards we’ll be bringing to the table in
the fall.
Go Bucks!
