Gallery Hop in the Short North fall on the first Saturday of every month. The gallery and shop owners of this adorable little art district open their doors to local artists to display and (hopefully) sell their pieces. I've gone to almost all gallery hops, and by far, this last one was my absolute favorite. Be it the weather, the people watching, or the general atmosphere itself, I didn't want the night to end. Walking through the Short North, you'll see street musicians, charity tables, artists selling their things on the street, and overall a multitude of interesting people.
My favorite part, though, were the things I ended up snagging. Usually the shops in Short North are notorious for being overpriced, but at the last Gallery Hop, I was able to get a beautiful sundress, two pairs of earrings (one vintage, one from Turkey), and two cups of coffee (so important!), for less than $40. Call it luck or stinginess, but I was extremely happy with my uncanny ability to save money, and cannot wait for the new treasures I'll find at the next Gallery Hop.
