OATA Symposium | Shannon Wright

This month in Akron, the Ohio Athletic Trainer’s Association held their annual symposium.  At this convention, new ideas are shared and spread through the athletic trainers in Ohio.
The Student Symposium had topics ranging from a new massage treatment called the Graston technique, which utilizes patented stainless steel tools to deeply massage tissues in the body, to how to properly fit foot orthotics.

The symposium also held the annual Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday night, where the new inductees were honored.  The Hall of Fame showcases not only the talent of the inductees, but also the dedication they have for the patients and profession.  Each one has given their entire adult life to the betterment of the profession and the healthcare of Ohio.
The OATA Symposium is a great place for ideas to be gathered and sent across the state to help athletic trainers better care for their patients.
